It finally snowed!
I have been waiting and hoping and praying for snow for months. At least 11. I heard on the news in November that it was supposed to be the coldest winter that the UK has seen in 100 years. I couldn't wait! The weather then proceeded to prove the forecasters wrong again and remained stubbornly above 40 degrees.
Then yesterday, I sat watching all day as the heavens sprinkled the magical flakes down on the earth, willing it to continue. I felt like it was a personal gift to me. And then, to make things even better, it didn't stop until there were several inches on the ground!
(sidenote: As I sit here typing, I just looked out the window and it's snowing AGAIN!)
Anyway, when Forrest came home from work, I insisted that we go to the grocery store to stock up on essentials in case we got snowed in for four days. I don't think he bought it, but he did take me. I mostly just wanted to go out and take pictures while the snow was falling. I hate driving in the snow but I definitely do not mind riding in the car while my trusty husband navigates the slippery roads.
This morning I took a walk because I love how everything looks after a fresh snow. But who doesn't, really. Everything looks so much more beautiful. It's funny how a little bit of solid precipitation can transform everything so magnificently.
The snow gave me an excuse to wear all of my handmade items! I was quite cozy, although mittens aren't the best things to wear when using a camera.
Oh yeah, and we saw some cows yesterday that were out of their field. I love British cows. They just look so huggable and curious.
Our snug little farmhouse loves wearing a blanket of snow.
Here's to six more inches tonight (hopefully!).
You are way too adorable for words! Now give me those mittens.
